KURSUTVÄRDERING

Inledning/Introduction

Kursen behandlar frågor kring den vetenskapliga artikelns form och innehåll, god språkbehandling, publiceringsprocessen och vetenskapliga tidskrifters redaktionella arbete. Vetenskapligt skrivande kräver både faktamässig kunskap (propositionell eller deklarativ kunskap) och praktiska färdigheter (”know-how”, procedural kunskap). Stor tonvikt läggs därför på själva hantverket att skriva vetenskapliga texter, bl.a. genom konkreta skrivövningar, förmedling av handfasta råd som kan omsättas i handling, samt diskussioner med utgångspunkt från deltagarnas upplevda problem och svårigheter.

The course deals with issues concerning the structure and content of the scientific article, principles for effective academic writing, the publishing process and editorial work of scientific journals. Scientific writing requires both factual knowledge (propositional or declarative knowledge) and practical skills ("know-how", procedural knowledge). Great emphasis is therefore placed not only on the “theory” of writing, but also on the actual craft of writing scientific texts, e.g. through concrete writing exercises in workshops and communication of hands-on advice, as well as discussions based on the participants' perceived writing challenges.

Efter avslutad kurs förväntas studenten kunna:

  • Kritiskt granska vetenskapliga artiklar med avseende på form
  • Reflektera kring vanliga utmaningar i den vetenskapliga artikeln och publiceringsprocessen

Examination / Examination

Examination sker genom skriftlig inlämning av uppgifter och texter samt genom aktiva insatser på seminarierna i enlighet med lärandemålen. Frånvaro från seminarier kompletteras med olika skriftliga uppgifter. 

Examination takes place through submission of written assignments and texts as well as through active efforts at the seminars in accordance with the learning outcomes. Absence from seminars is supplemented with various written assignments. 

 

Antagning / Admission

Grundläggande behörighet: antagen till utbildning på forskarnivå.

Doktorander antas enligt följande prioritetsordning:

  1. Doktorander registrerade vid Hälsouniversitetet eller doktorander starkt förknippad med Hälsouniversitetet som registrerats vid andra fakulteter inom Linköpings universitet
  2. Doktorander registrerade vid andra fakulteter inom Linköpings universitet
  3. Doktorander registrerade vid andra universitet

Deltagande av andra studenter än ovan är bara möjligt om det finns färre sökande från ovanstående grupper än antalet tillgängliga platser.

 

Eligibility: admitted to postgraduate education.

Doctoral students are admitted according to the following order of priority:

1. Doctoral students registered at the medical faculty of Linköping University or doctoral students strongly associated with the medical faculty of Linköping University who are registered at other faculties within Linköping University

2. Doctoral students registered at other faculties within Linköping University

3. Doctoral students registered at other universities

Participation of students other than above is only possible if there are fewer applicants from the above groups than the number of places available.

 

Kurslitteratur / Course literature

Kursgivaren kommer att tillhandahålla en förteckning över relevant litteratur före kursstart.

The course organizer will provide the participants with a list of relevant literature prior to the start of the course.

 

Övrigt / Miscellaneous

Kursen ges i normala fall på engelska.

The course is usually provided in English.
