Course description

The implementation research program at Linköping University offers this highly acclaimed course at postgraduate level, open also for post-doc researchers. The course has been given yearly since 2011. Teachers in the course are from Linköping University and other universities. The course has gained highly favourable course assessments and attracts PhD students from across Sweden and around the world.

This PhD-level course provides a broad introduction to the development of implementation science and the research conducted in this field. The aim is to increase understanding of the challenges of implementation in healthcare and convey in-depth knowledge concerning theories, models and frameworks that are of practical use in the participants’ own implementation research.

The course is taught in English and work is conducted on half-time basis. The course is available on-line or on-site at Linköping University. For those students who choose on-site learning, there are scheduled lectures and group discussions at two occasions at the university. Students who choose on-line learning will be able to access the course during these same dates. Course materials are studied in between meetings.

Admission

Entry requirement for studies on third-cycle education courses

  • second-cycle degree,
  • 240 credits in required courses, including at least 60 second-cycle credits, or
  • acquisition of equivalent knowledge in some other manner

The course is open for PhD students and post-doc researchers.  There are in total 20 places available, and priority is given to students who are registered for PhD studies.

Notifications of acceptance will be provided at the end of May.
