Invitation to seminar on Open Access & Open Data 29/9 & 4/10
At the turn of the month, Grants Office will arrange a seminar on Open Access and Open Data together with the library.
Open Access has long been a reality in Sweden, ever since Vetenskapsrådet and other Swedish funding agencies, in 2010, required that journal articles for work that they have funded be made freely available. Sweden is now expecting the implementation of an ambition set of guidelines for Open Access which will aim to make virtually all research output from publically funded research freely accessible: journal articles, books and research data. This is not happening in isolation; similar initiatives are underway at the EU level. Within Horizon 2020, Open Access is now mandatory for all peer-reviewed scientific publications, with only a few exceptions. What does this mean in the daily life of a researcher? What support is available? What are the advantages/dangers?
Come and find out at a seminar organised jointly by the Library and Grants Office!
Speakers: David Lawrence and Tove Kvarnström.
