Raising the alarm
For all emergency situations SOS Alarm must be contacted by calling 112, or through the switchboard at LiU on 0112.
Call 112, tell them calmly and clearly:
- who you are and where you are ringing from
- what has happened
- where it has happened
- if there is danger to human life
Do not terminate the call without permission from the operator.
Follow the instructions you receive. While you wait for help to arrive, continue to deal with the emergency: extinguish the fire, keep an eye on how the injured people are etc.
Meet the emergency vehicles – show the way in for rescue services.
Avoid placing yourself in unnecessary danger.
In a stressful situation it may be difficult to explain the way to an individual lab, so one good measure to take is to post a sign on each lab door with directions on how to find it, for example Linköping University, Valla, Building B, Entrance 23, ground floor, Corridor B on the left, Room B2:XXX
SAMS - cooperation agreement between LiÖ (Östergötland County Council) and LiU (Linköping University)
LiU and Region Östergötland have collaborated for an extended period of time on many issues concerning education, research and health and medical care operations.
