Coffee breaks increase productivity

When employees take a break and talk to each other general productivity increases by as much as 10- 15 percent. This is the outcome of a work-place study by Professor Alex Pentland at MIT. During breaks a lot of tacit knowledge is exchanged which contributes to strengthening the team spirit. According to Pentland strong ties is one of the most important factors in increasing productivity.
