Master programmes in English twice as popular
The number of students at LiU enrolled on a Master’s programmes has again increased significantly. This autumn there are around 800 students, a doubling compared to last year.
The international students have become an intrinsic part of daily life on campus at LiU. The interest in LiU’s Master programmes in English, currently there are around 30, just seems to increase.
“This autumn we have 800 registered students, which is twice as many as were registered in the autumn of 2008”, says Cecilia Johansson, Coordinator at the Division for Student Services.
The majority of the international students come from various parts of Asia and the most popular programmes are Business Administration at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Computer Science at the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
What about the Swedish students? They are not very interested in studying whole programmes in English it seems.
“They are a minority and there are only a few programmes they apply to, such as the programme at the Faculty of Health Sciences and biology at the Faculty of Science and Engineering,” says Cecilia Johansson.
