Ulf Nilsson to be provost

Ulf Nilsson will take the position of provost for Linköping University at the beginning of the year.

This is as a result of Mille Millnert deciding to leave the post of Rector to become the Director General of the Swedish Research Council instead. This means that the current provost, Karin Fälth-Magnusson, will accede to the position of acting Rector beginning February 1.

Ulf Nilsson is a professor in computer science and vice dean of the technical university. For many years, he has been deeply involved in both undergraduate education and doctoral studies. Among other things, he has led university-wide work in developing a quality assurance system for training courses. His commission as provost will extend from January 1 to June 30, 2011.

After the New year, work will begin on finding a new Rector.
