LiU partner in centre of excellence for climate adaptation
The Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research and C-Research are partners in NORD-STAR (Nordic Strategic Adaptation Research), which has been named a centre of excellence in the top Nordic research initiative.
Over a five-year period, NORD-STAR will produce a knowledge base and develop analytical tools to facilitate decisions and planning for climate adaptation. LiU researchers will be responsible for things such as developing climate visualisation and for analysing society’s adaptation to a changed climate. C-Research is composed of research groups at Linköping University that conduct research into visualisation.
The top research initiative is a large climate research campaign which includes research councils and authorities from the Nordic countries, such as NordForsk, the Nordic research body.
“This is a mark of quality for climate research at LiU. What’s especially great is that collaboration between the Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research and the Norrköping Visualization Centre will bear fruit in the form of excellent research,” says Björn-Ola Linnér administrator for CSPR and professor in the Department of Water and Environmental Studies.
