Generous donation for psoriasis research
A donation of MSEK 10 will enable LiU scientists to intensify their research on psoriasis, a widespread disease.
In Sweden, around 300 000 persons are affected by this chronic inflammatory skin disease which further down the line can even affect the joints and contribute to cardiovascular problems. Psoriasis is a hereditary disease triggered by stress, infection, skin wounds, and other factors in the immediate environment.
Despite medical progress during the past decade, many questions are still unresolved. This generous donation will allow a research expansion that is both broader and deeper than was previously possible at Linköping University.
The giver, who wishes to remain unknown, donated the same sum two years ago for renal research.
