Engineering Study Program of the Year. At LiU, of course.
LiUs educational program in applied physics and electrical engineering has been named as the Study Program of the Year in the field of technology education.
The nomination was made by Teknikföretagen, the Association of Swedish Engineering Industries which represents more than 3,200 of Sweden's most important engineering companies. The award includes one and a half million Swedish kronor of which half a million is earmarked for studentships.
LiUs study program in applied physics and electrical engineering is recognized for an ability to combine a broad technological perspective with in-depth specializations, ensuring that the graduate engineers are well-suited for a wide variety of positions on the job market.
The jury commends the program's study projects that emulate a business environment. This structure motivates students and prepares them for tasks they will encounter in professional life.
"This is a tremendous encouragement for all of us who have created the program and taught within its framework. I am sure it is welcomed by the students whose goal after graduation is to gain a foothold in their chosen profession. says Professor Svante Gunnarsson, who is in charge of the program.
